Below is an interactive map showing most destinations in and around coventry to pray in for a person within the religion of Islam.

It is essential for Muslims to know which mosque offers what, for instance some mosques are big enough to provide services to pray, teach children and provide events. However others may offer the place and time to just pray.

For those reading this article who may be new to the religion of Islam, there is a section below that may help you. It is essential to know how to pray the 5 prayers within the religion of Islam, this is because it is compulsory for prayer to be a part of every Muslim’s day to day lifestyle. Below is a helpful video that gives a good example of step by step prayer and why it is essential.

The video above is was made by Digital Mimbar and their social media links are below.

It is also essential to know what to listen out for which begins the five prayers within the day. All of these prayers are different, however the Adhaan/ Azan (the calling for prayer) for them is the same. This is because the calling of prayer and the message is the same every time. Below is an example of it.

The Adhaan/ Azan was created in the early 1800’s as a call for all Muslims to come and pray. The Azan itself is a message to let all Muslims know that the prayer time is upon them. Many Muslims have devices in their homes that are connected to their local mosques. This help them get the same message without being in the mosque every time they go to pray. The local imam (the person who prayers) will usually do the Adhaan/ Azan for their local mosque.

Fatima Bakali is a Muslim woman who is a mother and a wife. Islam is considered a religion of peace within the Quran which many may disagree with. I have interviewed Fatima Bakali as someone who is a Muslim and a British Citizen. I would like to voice her opinions of the religion of Islam and the common questions asked about it.

AZ: “Do you believe Islam is still truly considered a religion of peace after what has been portrayed in the media and why?”

FB: “Yes because it generates from a religion of peace. It is only the minority of extremist Muslims that have made the religion something that it wasn’t to meant to be. They use Islam as a tool for terrorism.”

AZ: “Is being a Muslim woman restricting for yourself within the public eye and why?”

FB: “No, I don’t agree because Islam does not restrict women from pursuing a career, from being independent, for expressing their views. In fact, it is a religion that classes the female gender to be more superior than the Male gender. The Prophet Khadijah was the first Muslim business woman of her time.”

AZ: “Is there anything that has been put in the media that made you question your faith?”

FB: “No never because I don’t believe in what the media tells me, I believe in what the Quran tells me.”

AZ: “Do you believe that all Muslim women should wear a hijab and why?”

FB: “No, I believe it is personal choice and personal preference and I also believe that if you are going to wear the hijab that it should be for the right reasons.”

AZ: “What is a typical day like in your lifestyle?”

FB: “I wake up first thing in the morning and do my morning prayer, then I go to work, I then come home and my first priority is to catch up on all the prayers I have missed, I then carry on with my normal household chores and then finish the day by praying and relaxing.”

AZ: “Do you ever feel judged for wearing a head scarf within the public eye?”

FB: “No I don’t because in the society we live in, the large majority of women wearing a headscarf which ranges from all different ages, young and old allows me to not feel judged and instead feel empowered. All Muslim come together now a days and fight for their beliefs, which I find amazing.”

Overall, a woman wears a hijab for the sole purpose of men not lusting over them, but seeing them for their real personality. Aliyah Patel has stated:

“A hijab can be worn for fashion, however, the real reason why a hijab is supposed to be worn is for God and his protection.”
